Background

Axa grew up in the industrial districts, where the arena circuit was one of the few paths out of poverty. She started fighting at sixteen, using a blade she modified from a cutting tool. By eighteen, she was a regular on the circuit. By twenty-two, she was one of the top fighters in her division. The money was good, but the wear on her body was accumulating. She left before the injuries became permanent.

Axa fights with a single-edged blade — long enough to keep distance, short enough to work in tight spaces. She favours defensive techniques: parries, deflections, counter-strikes. She lets her opponents exhaust themselves, then exploits the openings they leave. Appearance

Axa is tall and lean, with the build of a distance runner rather than a power fighter. She wears dark, close-fitting clothing that does not restrict movement. Her blade is carried across her back, edge-up, in a scabbard designed for quick draws.
