Legarune FAQ

Common questions about the project, its creation, and its world.

Do you use AI?

Yes. AI is part of the creative workflow behind Legarune, but it isn't the source of the ideas or the direction. It works as a co-writer and a powerful production tool—something that speeds up drafting, refining, and organizing content. The core of the world, its lore, characters, visuals, and themes all originate from my own imagination.

AI helps shape the material, but I decide what stays, what changes, and what defines the project. The foundation of Legarune comes from my mind; AI simply helps bring that vision to life.

There is no escaping AI, as far as I am concerned. It is everywhere and will become a big part of our lives, society and culture, no matter the illogical resistance against it. It's not AI itself, it is how we utilise it that matters.

Isn't what you're doing just AI slop?

When someone asks, "Isn't this just AI slop?", they're imagining I press a button and publish whatever appears. That's not how I work at all.

AI is my co-writer, not my replacement. It's a powerful tool that speeds up the process, helps me explore ideas, and turns rough concepts into something I can refine. But I'm the one driving the project. I decide what gets added, what gets changed, and what gets thrown out. The root of Legarune comes from my mind—its direction, themes, tone, and logic all start with me.

AI is simply a strong collaborator that helps me bring that vision to life faster and more effectively. If you removed the AI, the world would still exist because I'm the one building and shaping it. The tool helps, but the thinking and the choices are mine.

Is Legarune a game, a book, or something else?

Legarune is a worldbuilding art-based project first. The form it takes—stories, visuals, future projects—grows from that foundation. Think of it as a living archive. Chapters, characters, and concepts unfold at their own pace, and the medium adapts around the ideas rather than the other way around.

How often is the site updated?

Updates arrive in waves. When new lore is unearthed or a part of the world finally takes shape, it's added. Some days bring small refinements; others unlock entire regions or timelines. The project moves steadily, but never rushed.

How accurate is the lore?

The lore is treated as a historical record within the world of Legarune. Some entries arrive as refined accounts, others as scattered fragments, and a few feel like the half-certain field notes of travellers who saw more than they understood.

Ambiguity is built into the fabric of the world—truth bends depending on who is telling it and when. The archive is also alive. Pieces are added, expanded, or rewritten when inconsistencies surface or when the world's shape calls for clearer direction. Legarune grows, and its history grows with it.

What influenced you to start this project?

Legarune grew from a tangle of influences gathered over years. The early spark came from experimenting with synthetic art generation—creating characters, scenes, and concepts just to see who or what might emerge. Some of those images felt like they belonged to the same universe, and the world began to form around them. From there the foundation deepened, shaped by the stories and myth-layers found in things I've always loved: the sprawling legends of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, the long-carved timelines of Star Trek, the deep histories woven into The Elder Scrolls, and other worlds rich with continuity. Those threads mingled with my own ideas until Legarune became its own place, a setting that keeps unfolding the more I build upon the characters and concepts that inspired it.
