Renn Kolvex moves through the city the way water moves through pipes — finding the paths that aren’t on any map, using the infrastructure in ways its designers never intended. His board is a modified hover-unit, low-profile, rune-etched for stability and grip, capable of handling surfaces that would throw a standard vehicle. He uses it to carry physical messages and packages between clients who don’t trust digital channels.

Background

Renn started as a skater — just a kid on a board, moving through the lower districts for fun. When he discovered that the same skills applied to courier work, the fun became a career. He learned the city’s vertical districts the way a sailor learns the coast: by navigating them daily, by memorising the currents and the hazards, by knowing which routes are safe at which times of day.

Equipment

The board is custom-built. A standard hover-board can’t handle the texture variations in Legarune’s older districts — the cracked pavement, the metal grating, the organic surfaces in the marsh-city zones. Renn’s board has been modified with adaptive rune-etching that adjusts grip and lift based on surface conditions. It’s fast, quiet, and nearly invisible to standard surveillance.
