Codex: The Corridor Network

Corridors are engineered spacetime structures embedded within the galaxy long before the emergence of humanity. They are not vessels, drives, or propulsion systems. They are infrastructure — pre-constructed pathways inscribed into spacetime itself, anchored to precise stellar and gravitational configurations. Activation requires exact harmonic alignment. Without that alignment, a corridor remains inert.

Scientifically, corridors exploit regions where spacetime has already been folded and stabilised. They collapse effective distance by permitting transit along a pre-engineered geometry rather than through open space. No conservation laws are violated. No true faster-than-light propulsion occurs. Travel is achieved by moving along a designed topology, not by exceeding relativistic limits.

Corridors exist only where they were built. They cannot be generated at will. Civilisation expands around their placement; it does not determine it.

Control of corridor junctions becomes indistinguishable from control of civilisation itself, making centralised authority a structural outcome rather than an ideological preference.

Operational tolerances are narrow. Corridors are stable only within defined harmonic parameters. Misalignment or interference may produce:

For this reason, advanced civilisations approach corridor manipulation conservatively. Reckless experimentation is regarded as technologically immature and politically destabilising.

Humanity did not discover corridors through innate cognitive advancement. Post-Emergence artificial intelligences extended modelling capacity beyond unaided biological reasoning, allowing corridor physics to be simulated and interpreted. Artefacts recovered from corridor sites fed back into AI systems, producing an acceleration loop: better models enabling deeper analysis, which in turn yielded improved technology. Expansion followed not from mysticism, but from iterative computational refinement.
